Why did i choose student activism as my Master Degree topic
This is about time where i suppose to continue the second part of my hanging post last time, why did i choose to do this, its dying by the way, well if you read recent news, or have more than your regular 1Malaysia cycle, you will know that student activism is very active in other country especially Canada & France. I always believe ( not always recently but so not recent ago), student activism is a basic fundamental about how we can view a particular society reflect to the social or world events.
I can sense that some people get tired of me comparing Malaysia to France, screw you!, is it wrong for me to hope my country will be as good as France, and stop telling me to get the fuck out from this country!, I won't, i'm going to stay & make this Malaysia better.
Eceh, that is the inner me speaking, once i meet my gossip buddies, i will gossip like only we can! Hahaha
Baiklah, back to the topic, i wasn't stunned to give the answers when my supervisor ask me why do i want to do this topic, do you want all the students to get political, go on the street & march? Well i said, no madam, i just want the students to reflect of what is going on in the society, not particularly politics,they don't have to march down the street wearing dark blue, or green t shirts,screaming 'Bersatulah Ummah" or ' Hidup Melayu' but i just want to see students be active or at least respond of what is happening in local or world events,our country is going to built a second hand nuclear reactor for god sake! Why is nobody responding?
I believe in ideal world that at least 1000 student from Malaysian universities go down to street or nearest mall, especially Physics & Chemistry student handing out flyers & give informations about how dangerous a mismanagement of nuclear reactor, educate the public or at least explain about what happened in Chernobyl.
Malaysian can't even build a lasting stadium, how can we build a nuclear reactor? we can actually, if we have the awareness that real information that we live on does not linger in classroom, it is outside, can you see the importance of Student Activism now, if University students use more time on their weekends spending it on giving back to the society, we can build our own spaceship rocket now! Instead of building more & more Malls right?
